Manganese dioxide laboratory use

As we all know, manganese dioxide is a chemical product with many uses. It has many different uses in the laboratory. To facilitate your understanding, the following is an introduction to the laboratory uses of manganese dioxide.

1. A catalyst for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) to produce oxygen.

2. A catalyst for the decomposition of potassium chlorate to produce oxygen.

3. Aluminothermic reaction with elemental aluminum powder to produce manganese.

4. Used as pigment, yellow glass, etc.

5. React with hot concentrated hydrochloric acid to produce chlorine.

6. React with molten caustic potash (potassium hydroxide) in the air to produce potassium manganate.

7. In the decomposition reaction of potassium permanganate, manganese dioxide acts as a self-catalyst of potassium permanganate.

The above are the laboratory uses of manganese dioxide
